Amazing hike. Scenic views, plenty of water, and just enough mountains to be a challenge for even those who are physically fit. Loved every minute of the 3 day journey!

Sublime; the perfect trail in every way.

The loop is around 27 miles. We took a few wrong turns (our own fault, the trail is well marked), so our hike was right at 30 miles. It's certainly doable in two days, as we started at noon and finished at 6pm the following day. We even met one guy on the trail who was running it in one day. Next time I'll allow three days, though, as much to take advantage of some sweet camping spots than to make the distance more manageable.

I'm not an experienced hiker by any means, this trial was very difficult but we had so much fun. We did it in three days and two nights, make sure to pack enough warm clothes if you're going around spring time! Super beautiful trail, no cell service, perfect backpacking vacation!

We did the full loop at a relaxed pace early summer. You don’t need to worry about drinking/carrying too much water, as you’re able to fill up very frequently. It’s worthwhile to camp by the river or a stream both nights.

Great few days of hiking. Challenging, but enjoyable. Started at the West Trailhead at Blaylock Creek, going clockwise. Got the hard hill climbs out of the way while we were fresh. We started the first day mid afternoon, and got 7 miles in. 16miles the next day, and finished with 3miles the last day. Definitely doable in two days one night. Lots of camping spots everywhere except the Viles Branch horse trail-that was my least favorite part due to it being so dense and thick. There are so many water crossings, bring extra pairs of dry socks!

Everything about this loop is awesome. It's a beautiful hike, with lush forests and rolling hills, including a handful of challenging climbs. And close to a dozen water crossings. You can either bring extra socks or do what my wife did: force your hiking partner to piggy back you across all of them! If you're looking for solitude, look no further. We'd go 3 or 4 hours between seeing other hikers.
